CASA Seniors Wellness Centres
CASA is very proud to be offering seniors wellness centre sessions in the communities of Matapedia, Escuminac, Cascapedia-St. Jules, New Carlisle, Port Daniel and Chandler. An average of 16 to 23 seniors attend the sessions for an exercise program, cognitive and mental stimulation exercises, lunch and wrap up the day with a health and social services presentation delivered by health professionals and community organizations.
The goal of the wellness centre program is to ensure Anglophone seniors have access to services and supports in English as well as help them to stay healthy, active, connected and informed so they may remain autonomous and living in their own homes for as long as possible.
More than 75 seniors have participated in over 80 English presentations including important information on various topics such as nutrition, foot care, making a will, estates & mandates and many more.... The wellness centres have also featured intergenerational activities with the students of New Richmond High School, New Carlisle High School and Shigawake-Port Daniel School.
Former particpants are always contacted about upcoming Wellness Centres. If you would be interested in attending a Wellness Centre session in your area, please contact CASA today for more information.
